Let's dive into this exotic plant to see where it originates, why it is so popular, and the benefits of using it!

The name Lavender derives from the Latin root “lavare”, which translates to “wash”. The earliest recorded use of lavender dates back to ancient Egypt where it played a role in the mummification process. As time passed lavender became a bath additive in many regions around the world. These regions include Persia, ancient Greece, and Rome. These cultures believed that lavender helped purify the body and mind. The first lavender plants found in America made their way here sometime after the first European settlers and has since spread rapidly around the country. You can find lavender anywhere! Now that we have gone over the history, let's discuss why this plant is used more than others.
